Kyocera Acquires in MalaysiaKyocera Document Solutions Inc. (hereinafter “Kyocera”) announced that it has acquired the document solutions business of Malaysia-based JISNA (MALAYSIA) Sbn. Bhd. (hereinafter “JISNA”), and has started operations through its newly established sales subsidiary, Kyocera Document Solutions Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., on November 2.

Kyocera Document Solutions Malaysia is the eighth sales subsidiary under Kyocera Document Solutions Asia, the regional sales headquarter of the company in the Asian region excluding Japan and China. The company had been offering MFPs and printers in Malaysia through its partnership with JISNA. With demands expected to further grow in the region, developing strategic sales operations has been an urgent task to respond to customer needs.

In light of this situation, the company acquired JISNA’s document solutions business in order to strengthen its sales and maintenance operations in the Malaysian market, and provide services to customers throughout the country in a timely manner. In addition to MFPs and printers, the company plans to offer ECM (Enterprise Content Management) and ICT solutions as comprehensive services, with the aim of enhancing its customer service infrastructure and expanding sales.

In the previous announcement, the company reported decline in sales revenue, operating profit, and profit attributable to owners of the parent company in the six months ended September 30, 2020.

According to the company, sales revenue turned out to be JPY 696.037 billion (US$6.67 billion), down 12.9% comparing to the same period from last year. Operating profit registered to be JPY24.065 billion (US$230.767 million), down 60.1% year-over-year. Profit attributable to owners of the parent company was of JPY34.360 billion (US$329.490 million), down 42.4% comparing to the same period from last year.
