On the back of news last week that Epson has shipped 15 million ink tank printers worldwide since 2010, comes news that Kenya has led the sales in Africa selling over 10,000 units in just the last year alone.

Mukesh Bector, Regional Sales Manager for Epson East Africa, explained, “Kenya has been a huge success for us. To date, Kenya is the leading country in the uptake of ITS printers in Africa, with local sales last year standing at over 10,000 units. ITS printers have been especially successful with SMEs in market due to additional capabilities such as Wi-Fi direct, printing from non-traditional products such as mobile phones as well as cloud printing capabilities to ensure businesses run as smoothly as possible.”

First launched in Indonesia, the high-capacity ink tank printer takes up 10% of Epson’s total printer sales, and is widely sold in 150 countries and regions. The OEM predicts the global annual sales will continue to grow to approximately 40% of the total sales of its inkjet printers.
