HP Sells Snapfish

To keep up with its organization strategy after previous separation, HP announced an agreement to sell Snapfish, its global photo storage and merchandising business. District Photo, a leader in digital imaging fulfillment services, will acquire the Snapfish business, along with its technology assets and employees.

According to the OEM, Snapfish will continue to grow its global online photo service in partnership with leading retailers and help customers worldwide store, share and print photos online.

District Photo says it expects to provide Snapfish customers with the same level of service and support as they receive from HP.

After the acquisition, Snapfish will continue to use HP printing solutions while HP will provide the HP Connected Photo application developed by Snapfish on HP consumer PCs.

The acquisition transaction is expected to close in the second half of HP’s fiscal year 2015.
