HP New App Checks Ink Level

According to www.Ghacks.net , HP has launched a new version of the SureSupply app for Android tablets that checks the level of a printer. This app also has a feature that allows users to purchase a new cartridge by searching their zip codes and finding local HP retailers.

Through Version 2.0 of SureSupply, consumers can use the “verify” factor to check whether a cartridge is authentic by scanning the security label on the product’s packaging. HP hopes that this will help consumers avoid purchasing counterfeit cartridges, but because the app cannot distinguish between counterfeit and remanufactured cartridges, it may discourage consumers from buying remans.

In addition, this new app provides a “simplified design and navigation” as well as a “user-friendly FAQ section, and a direct link to assisted email support”. It is free to download onto any Android device that runs version 2.0 or newer systems.
