HP Launches New Version App in Check Ink Level

According to Ghacks.net, HP has launched a new version of the SureSupply app for android. It is used for checking users’ ink levels of their printers via a mobile phone or tablet. This app is added a new factor which allows users to purchase a new cartridge by searching their zip codes and find local HP retailers.

Through Version 2.0 of SureSupply, consumers can use the “verify” factor to check whether a cartridge is authentic by scanning the security label on the product’s packaging. HP hopes that this will help consumers to avoid purchasing counterfeit cartridges.

However, this app is not telling counterfeit and remanufactured products apart. It makes consumers possibly cannot reach the remanufactured products.

In addition, this new version app also provides a “simplified design and navigation” as well as a “user-friendly FAQ section, and a direct link to assisted email support”. It is free to download onto any android device which runs version 2.0 or newer systems.
