Turbon continues to expand its printing business. These include organizational changes, the expansion of logistics in Hattingen and production in Romania, the company said.

As Stephan Rudolf of the company’s management emphasized to BusinessPartner PBS, investments at the production site in Romania should enable shorter reaction times and greater flexibility, while at the same time reducing production capacity at the site in Thailand. The expansion of logistics in Hattingen will contribute to an improvement in the range of products and services. In order to position the laser cartridge business profitably in the long term, further measures – including the possible sale of unprofitable parts of companies such as North America or Asia – are being considered. In sales, the company has been leaner since July: Under the Turbon Products GmbH The sales organizations of Turbon Europe GmbH, Embatex GmbH and EBP AG were merged.

In an ad-hoc announcement, Turbon had informed about lower than planned sales in the laser cartridge business during the first half of the year. For example, the company expects pre-tax profit for the full year 2018 to be around EUR 2.5 million despite good results in the Services / MPS segment and the business acquired in Dubai at the end of last year. The board expects “that the losses in laser cartridges business can be significantly reduced by 2019 at the end of a profitable business opportunity and ultimately eliminated”.
