Epson ITC Case Takes Shots Again

United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has issued a seizure forfeiture order of ink cartridges and components to Amazon.com KYDC LLC and its affiliated companies.

The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (“Customs”) has denied entry of the articles related to the investigation No. 337-TA-946 by the company into the U.S. Later, the Customs reported to the USITC. In response to the Customs’ report, the USITC approved and issued the seizure and forfeiture order against the company.

The accused company, Amazon.com KYDC LLC, is one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers based in Texas.

The No. 337-TA-946 investigation regarding ink cartridges and components was filed by Epson Portland Inc. of Hillsboro, Oregon, Epson America, Inc. of Long Beach, California, and Seiko Epson Corp. of Japan in 2014.

Prior to this one, 4 seizure and forfeit orders were issued 2 months into 2017.
