Epson Addresses Annual Productivity Loss with RIPS Series

Epson announced the launch of its WorkForce Pro RIPS (Replaceable Ink Pack System) Series in Europe. The new products, designed with Epson’s industrial inkjet print head technology called PrecisionCore, deliver uninterrupted printing for up to 75,000 pages without the need for a consumables change.

The OEM states its RIPS series, including an A3 model, address an annual productivity loss of €7 billion (US$ 9.66 billion) across EU5 businesses. Also, it is the result of a €125 million (US$172.5 million) investment in production facilities in Japan, enabling Epson to move high-end industrial print head technology into the volume market.

In addition to the new RIPS, Epson also unveiled a set of new business inkjet models. “Both the new business inkjets and the new WorkForce Pro RIPS strengthen an already robust business inkjet line-up that boasts up to a 50% reduction in cost per page and an 80% reduction in power consumption when compared to comparative laser products,” said the firm.

Andrew Semple, Head of Business Imaging at Epson Europe, noted, “This is the next generation of Epson inkjet technology, and offers more flexibility and potential than laser, meaning superior scope for development and the ability to evolve in line with changing market needs.”

Photizo Group explained, “By taking on the issue of frequent ink refills, Epson is tackling productivity issues that appeal to businesses and speaks directly to users’ shared experience.”
