Brian Dufour Promoted to VP of Advantage Migrations

ECi Software Solutions has named Brian Dufour as Vice President of Advantage Migrations. In this role, Dufour will help users of the legacy and NextGen versions of Advantage® software prepare migration strategies to ECi’s cloud-based Spruce™ or RockSolid MAX™ business management software for the LBMH industry. He will ensure they have the information needed to make decisions about their technology.

“Brian’s new role is very important for ECi’s Building & Construction Division,” said John Maiuri, President of the LBM and Hardlines Group, Building & Construction Division. “For our customers whose businesses are growing, we want them to have the technology that suits their specific needs. Brian knows the industry, our user base, and our products and is the best person to develop strategies around helping customers who move from one platform to another.”

“I am honored to have been chosen to take on this new role,” said Dufour. “Our customers are the most important aspect of our company and helping them choose the technology that will help their businesses thrive is my goal. Cloud-based platforms are the best value for LBMH dealerships right now, and I am thrilled to help those who want to move their businesses to this beneficial technology.”

ECi’s cloud-based software includes the Spruce and RockSolid MAX solutions. Cloud-based software allows even the smallest retailers to enter the market because of the low start-up costs as no server or software maintenance is required. These solutions offer better data protection because of superior firewalls at the hosting sites, automatic data backups, and redundant, offsite data storage. In addition, a cloud-based solution is easily scalable as a business grows, giving users greater flexibility with the expansion of their operations.

Dufour previously served ECi as VP of Texas Operations, where one of his projects was the successful move of the Advantage offices from Big Sandy to Lindale. “Advantage’s operations had been based in Big Sandy for more than 30 years,” relates Dufour. “The move was a big deal, emotionally and logistically, but it was right for the company, our employees, and our customers.” Dufour came to ECi with more than 30 years’ experience in the IT industry, including 18 years as an Advantage software user in a home-improvement-store environment.
