Counterfeit Ink Raid in Mumbai

Local police raided the premises of a dealer of Epson counterfeits in Goregaon, Mumbai.

The raid is part of Epson’s vigilance to the manufacturers and dealers of counterfeit Epson ink bottles. 2,700 counterfeit ink bottles, 8 gallons (litres) of black and colored ink were seized, along with some packaging materials. According to TonerNews, Four people in responsibility were charged under the prevailing laws with infringement of IP Rights of Seiko Epson Corporation.

A spokesperson at Seiko Epson Corporation said: “The Mumbai police have been extremely efficient in curbing this issue of infringement and we extend our support to law enforcement authorities that are tackling similar issues.”
