Cartridge Collector Acquisition Marks New Beginning

Needempty may have lost one of its founders, but the remaining founder says his acquisition marks the beginning of a new phase for the company.

Needempty collects empty cartridges as well as surplus ink and toners and sells them to remanufactures and brokers in the US and Canada.

The remaining co-founder and President, Matthieu Laroche said that his collaborator and co-founder Jonathan Quevillon (also known to many as John Dion) sold him his share, and left the company. A company statement on its website does not specify the reason why Quevillon has left.

Laroche said the two met during their engineering studies in 2006. The business prospered and in 2016 alone, processed 2 million empty cartridges. It currently holds 900,000 empty inkjet and toner cartridges in stock for use in 850 different printer models.

According to its website, the company redeems empty and used printer cartridges and even pays for shipping. As for buyers, the company ships cartridges globally and offers free shipping within the U.S. and Canada.
