Canon Unveils Desktop Large-Format Printers TC-5210/TC-5210 M

Canon has announced the launch of its new desktop large-format printers, the imagePROGRAF TC-5210 and TC-5210 M. As upgraded versions of the previous models, the new printers build upon Canon’s established strengths in stability, productivity, and environmental sustainability, while introducing enhanced user convenience and broader media compatibility.

Designed to meet the high-precision printing needs of professionals including designers, engineers, and architects, as well as businesses requiring efficient poster production and retail flyer printing, the new printers offer flexible and high-performance solutions. This launch underlines Canon’s continued commitment to user-centric innovation and technology upgrades, driving progress across the printing industry.

The TC-5210 and TC-5210 M feature a thoughtfully compact design, enabling users to perform all printing-related operations – such as paper loading and ink replacement – from the front of the device, optimizing workspace utilization. Both models support “ultra-narrow margin printing,” enabling borderless printing at the top and bottom and reducing side margins when using roll paper. This feature delivers near-edge-to-edge visuals for documents and images, enhancing the aesthetic impact of posters, brochures, and report.

In addition to design enhancements, the TC-5210 and TC-5210 M excel in media compatibility. They can automatically adjust to diverse media types, including coated paper, glossy photo paper, and synthetic materials, ensuring stable and high-quality output across applications. The upgraded auto sheet feeder supports various sizes such as A3, A4, postcards, envelopes, pharmaceutical packaging, and labels. This enables users to handle multi-size outputs within the same project seamlessly.

On the sustainability front, Canon integrates eco-friendly practices throughout product development. Approximately 5% of the printers’ metal parts are made from recycled steel, and recycled plastic accounts for around 40% of materials used, effectively reducing single-use plastic consumption and minimizing environmental impact across the product lifecycle. This demonstrates Canon’s firm commitment to embedding sustainable development into its design and manufacturing processes.
