Canon Launches Next-Generation PRO Series Photo Printers

Canon China has unveiled a new lineup of PRO series professional photo printers, including the A2-format imagePROGRAF PRO-510, A3+ imagePROGRAF PRO-310, and the PIXMA PRO-200S. Designed for photographers, artists, and educational institutions, the new series delivers enhanced image quality, long-term durability, and streamlined workflows to meet the demands of professional and creative environments.

At the heart of the PRO-510 and PRO-310 is Canon’s latest pigment ink system, LUCIA PRO II, offering a 12-color and 10-color configuration, respectively. The addition of specialized inks—including blue, red, and dual gray tones—improves shadow detailing and color gradation, while a clear coat reduces gloss inconsistencies and helps prevent surface reflections. The updated formulation also includes a new matte black ink for deeper density on fine art papers, along with wax components that enhance scratch resistance and long-term image stability.

The PIXMA PRO-200S, featuring an 8-color dye-based ink system, has been optimized for improved connectivity, supporting dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and advanced encryption standards for faster and more secure wireless printing.

The new models support a wide range of print sizes and formats. The PRO-510 can handle media up to 3.276 meters in length, while the PRO-310 supports up to 1.8 meters, allowing for more flexible large-format printing, from wall-mounted exhibitions to portfolio booklets.

To further improve efficiency, all three models are compatible with Canon’s Professional Print & Layout software, enabling users to manage ICC color profiles, preview prints, auto-layout multiple images, and fine-tune tonal reproduction. The PRO-510 also includes a new high-density print head with automatic nozzle compensation and built-in color calibration, ensuring consistent high-quality output.

Sustainability also plays a role in the new lineup. Canon has replaced traditional foam packaging with recyclable cardboard buffers, reducing environmental impact.
