Canon Files Suit against Patent Infringement in Netherlands

Canon recently announced it has brought a lawsuit before the District Court at The Hague in the Netherlands accusing Aster Technology Holland B.V. of infringing on Canon’s European Patent (NL) number 2,087,407 by importing and selling certain toner cartridges for Hewlett-Packard’s laser beam printers. Canon is seeking injunctive relief.

The OEM asserts that it respects the intellectual property rights of other companies and individuals. Hoping others to do the same, Canon is determined to take legal action against infringement.

Previously, on January 29, 2014, Canon USA filed lawsuits in New York’s Southern District Court against 18 toner cartridge remanufacturers and other aftermarket suppliers.
