Canon Dominates Philippines Inkjet Market
According to a report from IDC, Canon PIXMA inkjet printers have been the Number One inkjet brand in the Philippines for the second consecutive year. The total inkjet market share owned by Canon in the region is 45%. Within this segment, Canon dominates the Single Function Printers (SFP) market with 52% share. In the Multi-Function Printer (MFP) category, it possesses a 39% share.
In 2012, Canon posted a significant growth of 30% in the SFP category while posting a 14% growth in the MFP sector. Both categories experienced a 13% decline compared with the same time last year.
“The achievement of the Number One market share position for Canon PIXMA Printers in the Philippines for two consecutive years,” said Bong Serevo, Vice President and CSP (Consumer Systems Products) Division head of Canon Marketing Philippines, “can be attributed to the synergy of our efforts in all aspects of business—in sales, in marketing, and in service support—all of which revolves around Canon’s Customer Delight philosophy,”
The Canon PIXMA iP2770 SFP, known for its quality, versatility and affordability, was also the top selling SFP for the first three quarters of 2012. The Canon PIXMA MP287 and the PIXMA E500 also came out as top selling MFPs.
