Business Unit Set up to Explore West African Market

A subsidiary of a leading Japanese camera and printer manufacturer has established a unit in West Africa for promoting its cameras and printers’ sales.

As reported by Nikkei Asian Review, Canon Nigeria Imaging Solutions will be Canon’s third unit opening in Africa in addition to other units in South Africa and Kenya. It is located in Lagos of Nigeria.

Two managers will oversee the consumer market and corporate market in Nigeria, respectively. Opening this new unit will reinforce Canon’s Nigerian sales agencies and help the company find new sales channels.

The unit is expected to sell laser and multifunctional printers to companies along with selling cameras and printers. Canon also hopes this new unit can exploit the market of office printers and video equipment, and the business opportunities in neighboring countries.

In January, Canon set up a business sector for its Central and North African operations in Dubai.
