Business Inkjet Market Continues to Grow

The business inkjet market maintained its momentum in the third quarter of 2015, with a growth of 16.3% year-over-year(YOY).

This is in despite of a 6.3% YOY decline in the overall worldwide hardcopy peripherals (HCP) market.

According to research group International Data Corporation (IDC ) business inkjet shipments were 2.2 million units in 3Q 2015, while total shipments of the HCP market fell to 25.8 million units, with a corresponding shipment value of $13.8 billion, down 5.7% over the same period.

Notable highlights in the third quarter included:

•  Shipments of Basic and Managed print services devices continuing to grow, posting more than 380,000 units in 3Q15.

•  The U.S. maintained positive year-over-year shipment growth with close to 5.6 million units.

•  High-end color laser devices (45 ppm+) recorded double-digit year-over-year growth (15.3%).

•  Kyocera Document Solutions outperformed all other top 10 vendors with 6.1% year-over-year growth, resulting in 415,000 units shipped.
