Apex: Printer Cartridge Chip Is the Future

At the RT Imaging Summit organized by Recycling Times during May 29th and 30th in Las Vegas, Richard E Clemmer II, Senior Sales Manager at Apex Microelectronics US (Apex), delivered a speech on the topic “Printer Cartridge Chip: Development and Future”. During the speech, Apex introduced its new technologies including System-on-chip (SOC) and patented Unismart laser and inkjet OEM chip resetting technology.

Apex believes SOC is the next wave to be used by OEMs. The company says an SOC type chip has on it both the system hardware and the software. Under Central Processing Unit (CPU) control, it operates at higher speeds with lower power consumption. It allows faster operation, even stronger encryption, lower cost and higher system integration. The future trend in chip technology is undoubtedly SOC. Apex claims to be the only aftermarket chip technology company capable of delivering SOC solutions to the industry. The company has been awarded patents for its own SOC CPU technology, around which various new SOC Chip designs will be based allowing users to circumvent any future OEM chip design.

Apart from new chip technologies, Apex also develops and introduces chip resetting for the aftermarket. Its Unismart chip resetting device is not an entirely new concept to many global customers. The system has been available for 6 years and is continually upgraded via the internet. It is simple to use and answers the needs of many customers. Apex says resetting used OEM chips for reuse is the best form of recycling. The company believes that the OEMs hope to see more of this type of recycling from the aftermarket and that chip resetting is a growing trend.

During the speech, Apex asserted it recognizes and highly respects the Intellectual Property rights of others and also reaffirmed its ambition to sustain an atmosphere of healthy cooperation and mutual progress within the entire imaging industry.

Steve Weedon, Expert Panelist of the summit, commented,  “The Apex presentation was full of facts that no one knew before.”
