Another Seizure and Forfeiture Order Issued

California-based Electric Zone Inc. has received a seizure and forfeiture order on January 12.

The entry of its toner cartridge products was denied by the U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (Customs) when the company attempted to import them into the U.S. The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) determined Electric Zone Inc. violated 337-TA-829 general exclusion order (GEO) and issued a seizure and forfeiture order against the company. The USITC also noted, this company is forbidden to import any related products into the U.S.

337-TA-829 investigation was instituted in February 2012 based on Canon’s complaint. In this investigation, Canon claimed the respondents violated its U.S. patent Nos: 5,903,803 and 6,128,454. In June 2013, this investigation granted a GEO officially by the USITC.
