$100,000 Donation to Support Children in Need

Domtar Corporation has donated $100,000 to provide children across America with school supplies, prior to the new academic year.

According to TonerNews.com, the donation was made to Office Depot foundation’s National Backpack Program. The company claims that 5,000 backpacks will be distributed to nonprofit organizations and schools in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Canadian sustainable paper company also initiated a Powerful Pages program to promote reading and writing among children and help equip them for learning.

Rob Melton, Vice President of Paper Sales and Marketing at Domtar, said, “Supporting the Office Depot Foundation is important to Domtar because promoting education and literacy are core priorities for us. Putting paper and writing supplies in the hands of children in need helps set them up for success, in school and in life.”

Office Depot Foundation President Mary Wong, said, “Domtar is truly a difference-maker. We are exceptionally grateful that the company has made a substantial donation again this year, in support of our National Backpack Program. Domtar’s contribution helps us maximize the impact that this program has on kids across the country. We appreciate Domtar’s commitment to children and families.”
