Canon Print Assistant Enhances Windows Printing Experience
Canon announced the release of its new application, Canon Print Assistant, now available on Microsoft Store. The app expands the functionality of the standard printer drivers included in the latest Windows OS printing platform, offering a user interface similar to Canon’s traditional printer drivers for a more intuitive and feature-rich printing experience.

Windows OS includes a built-in printing platform with standard printer drivers that enables users to customize printing tasks, including switching paper size and print orientation, without installing specific drivers from OEM manufacturers. The compatibility across a wide range of printers eliminates the need to manage different drivers, and the automatic platform updates also reduces IT maintenance costs.
In collaboration with Microsoft, Canon has developed Canon Print Assistant to provide a more seamless and flexible printing environment. Leveraging the convenience of Windows’ built-in printing platform, the app enables users to access advanced printing functions such as resolution selection and page layout settings, which were previously only available through Canon’s proprietary printer drivers. It also features a settings preview function, allowing users to confirm configurations and operate intuitively.
Furthermore, the new printing platform supports Arm-based Windows devices, ensuring a smooth and efficient printing experience for users adopting Arm-based PCs, which are gaining traction amid the recent AI-driven PC market growth.
Canon Print Assistant is compatible with a wide range of Canon products, including office multifunction devices in the imageFORCE, imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX, imageRUNNER ADVANCE, and imageRUNNER series, production printers in the imagePRESS series, and laser printers and multifunction devices in the Satera series. Compatibility will continue to expand to additional models over time. Canon also plans to further enhance the app’s available printing features to meet diverse user needs.
