Xerox Sees Growth in Color Printing Devices

Xerox released its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2014 and full-year results.

In the fourth quarter, its total revenue reached US$5.0 billion, down 3% year-over-year (YoY). Revenue from its Services business, which represented 54% of total revenue, was US$2.7 billion, up 1% YoY. Revenue from the company’s Document Technology business, which represented 43% of total revenue, was US$2.2 billion, down 8% YoY.

According to the company’s fourth quarter earnings presentation, only the installs of entry color printers and high-end color models saw a YoY growth.

The OEM’s full-year 2014 results include: total revenue of US$19.5 billion; US$10.6 billion from Services and US$8.4 billion from Document Technology.

According to the presentation, the company recorded a slight increase in mid-range color MFDs and a flat growth in color printers, while all the other segments declined.

“We delivered strong profit and cash in the fourth quarter,” said Ursula Burns, chairman and chief executive officer. “Services revenue growth improved and margin expanded both sequentially and year-over-year. This is an indication that our plan is delivering positive results. Total contract signings increased 20 percent, driven by renewals. We continue to lead in Document Technology, where we are executing well and where we expanded profit year-over-year.”

“We’re encouraged by these results, which demonstrate our ability to win in segments where Xerox is uniquely differentiated like healthcare, graphic communications and transportation,” Burns added.
