Xerox GIS Acquires an Iowan Multi-Brand Dealer

Global Imaging Systems (GIS), a Xerox company that sells and services document management systems, has acquired a multi-brand dealer based in Iowa, U.S.

According to Wirth Consulting, the acquired company, Laser Resources, is a multi-brand dealer specializing in markets production printers, copier/MFPs and related software/solutions, as well as managed print services (MPS), etc.

The acquisition of Laser Resources is believed to strengthen GIS’ presence in the Des Moines and central Iowa markets and fulfill the company’s strategy to expand its multi-brand sales channels.

“As a leading multi-brand dealer, Laser Resources expands our network of locally based companies who successfully provide end-users with industry-leading technology and innovative services,” commented Michael Pietrunti, GIS’s senior vice president of acquisitions, corporate services and marketing.

Laser Resources founder, President and CEO Bob Lashier, said, “Our ability to sell the Xerox product line through our partnership with GIS will allow us to reach new heights with our printing solutions, maintenance services, and technical support offerings. Best of all, it increases our ability to exceed customer expectations throughout Iowa and its borders.”

Mr. Lashier will stay on as the company’s president after more than 30 years of service. Same goes for the co-owner Andy Lashier, who will also continue to serve as the executive vice president of the company.
