Spicers Paper expands regional presence
Spicers Paper is to acquire California-based JC Paper.
The group – a subsidiary of Central National Gottesman (CNG) – has signed a definitive purchase agreement to buy JC Paper, as it aims to expand its paper distribution presence in California and Nevada.
JC Paper is an independent, family-owned paper merchant which specialises in fine paper for the commercial print industry, as well as the distribution of jan/san and catering supplies.
It also operates a retail store in Nevada, which serves small to mid-sized printers.
The companies will consolidate operations in Fremont, California, including sales, customer service and distribution functions, while the Nevada retail space will become a Kelly Paper Store.
CNG CEO Andrew Wallach commented: “Adding JC Paper to our West Coast operations will help strengthen our position in one of our key regions. Our suppliers and customers will benefit from our combined operational and commercial expertise.”
The transaction is expected to close at the end of August.
