Samsung America Welcomes New VP for Sales & Marketing for Printing Solutions

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. today announced the hire of Matthew Smith as vice president of sales and marketing, printing solutions. Smith joins Samsung as a member of its Enterprise Business Division leadership team where he will be responsible for managing B2B sales, fostering channel relationships and driving market share growth for the Samsung print business.

“Matthew brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge that will be incredibly valuable as we continue to deliver an enhanced business experience, a significant part of which is printing solutions,” said Tod Pike, senior vice president at Samsung’s Enterprise Business Division. “We look forward to his expertise and a fresh perspective as we evolve our B2B print offerings and deliver on our vision of providing smarter, more connected and cost-effective technology experiences.”

Smith’s responsibilities will focus on driving sales and market share growth for the Samsung Printing Solutions business. He will also serve as conduit for Samsung’s channel partners, tasked with ensuring alignment on business objectives and facilitating an understanding of the unique needs of this business area.

Among Smith’s first major initiatives is a B2B marketing campaign showcasing how to “do it all by doing less” utilizing new technologies in Samsung’s ProXpress line including NFC, mobile print and one-touch eco mode. Learn more about the campaign at samsung.com/printless.

“Samsung is in an exciting place in the print market, with an awarding-winning product portfolio and a unique ability to deliver smarter and more connected solutions that help businesses and other organizations unlock new potential,” Smith said. “We are looking to present some new ideas and be a little disruptive in the way we showcase print as a part of a broader IT strategy.”

Prior to Samsung, Smith was responsible for channel marketing, marketing development, and communications for Print and PC for the United States and Canada at HP. He is a graduate of Purdue University and holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
