Sales Increase Wraps up First Three Quarters of 2017

Ricoh has released its financial report of the first three quarters in the financial year 2017.

According to Ricoh, its total sales at the end of Dec. 2017 was JP¥1,516.2 billion (US$13.87 billion), witnessing a year-over-year (YOY) increase of 3.2%. Domestic sales was JP¥579.2 billion (US$5.27 billion), seeing a YOY lift of 5.9%; while its overseas sales was JP¥936.9 billion (US$8.57 billion), adding 1.6% in comparison with the same period of last financial year.

At the end of Ricoh’s third quarter of the financial year 2017, its gross profit was JP¥593.9 billion (US$5.43 billion), increasing 1.4% compared with the same period of last financial year; operating profit was around JP¥48 billion (US$0.44 billion), marking a YOY growth of 68.1%. At the end of Q3, Ricoh’s profit before income tax expenses was JP¥43.1 billion (US$0.39 billion), improving 65% in comparison with the same period of last financial year.

In the segment of office printing, sales was around JP¥849.2 billion (US$7.77 billion), reducing 1% in comparison with the same period of last financial year; while on the part of office services, the sales has seen a YOY rising of 8% to JP¥317.5 billion (US$2. 90 billion).

In Ricoh’s overseas market, sales of office printing in the area of the Americas was around JP¥260.7 billion (US$2.39 billion), declining 7.1% in comparison with the same period of last financial year; while the sales in the area of Europe, Middle East and Africa was about JP¥233.7 billion (US$2.14 billion), seeing a YOY rise of 2.3%.
