Promising More

It may look like the biggest “jumbo” cartridge you have ever seen. However, Print Smart Solutions Director, Santosh Kumar (pictured) claims his cartridges really are a “big deal”, because they are manufactured under the “Make in India” program.

Kumar is excitedly telling attendees at the Indian Recharger Expo, in Mumbai, the cartridges are all manufactured at his Bangalore based start-up plant, which attracted 10 million rupees (US$150,000) in NRI funding.

“Our company is targeting the quality conscious segment with our ‘zero defect’ policy,” he told RT Media’s David Gibbons who is also participating at the Mumbai expo. “Each and every cartridge we produce is print-tested to ensure reliability and quality.” Kumar says the focus is primarily on delivering cartridges that can compete with expensive, quality OEM cartridges.

According to Kumar, about 80 percent of the components and raw materials used in production are currently being imported from leading manufacturers outside of India. However, the plan is to scale back on this dependency and manufacture more locally-made components and to contribute more to the Indian Prime Minister’s Industrial Growth strategy.

Hundreds of visitors turned out on Day 1 of the expo, the largest event for printing consumables in the growing Indian market. Indian Recharger Expo 2017 runs for 3 days.

Kumar can be contacted about his locally-made cartridges, and distribution opportunities by phone: + 91-98453 81920 or email: printsmartinternational@gmail.com

At last someone in India finally understands it all about quality and not price. High quality at reasonable prices makes for a sustainable business.
