Printer OEMs Register Strong Sales

InfoTrends recently reported printer OEM’s latest quarterly earnings, showing percent changes in revenue, operating profit from last year for the print business sector and key drivers for strong growth.

InfoTrends believes printer OEMs generally performed well in the previous quarter. Compared to last year, nearly all OEMs registered growth in their imaging and printing revenue, with a number of vendors seeing their imaging and printing profit increase at a double-digit rate (see Oki in above Table). These companies recognize the positive effect of currency exchange as a major growth driver.

Also, benefits from higher-end models, IT services, product launches, sales expansion activities, as well as cost reduction contribute growth. InfoTrends opines the companies’ strategies are paying off in the short term and will publish its annual vendor financial analysis in March 2015 to reveal how the manufacturers performed in the longer term.
