Print-Rite’s Patent Portfolio Approaches Milestone

Print-Rite’s master global distributor UTec announces that Print-Rite has been granted a U.S. patent for a means of adjusting the speed of a developer roller based upon detection of the release of an imaging sheet approaching the developer roller. Patent No. 8,634,749 B2 was granted by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This award means Print-Rite’s portfolio will soon reach a total of 2,200 patents.

The innovation teaches an image forming apparatus in which a “controller is configured to determine the moment for switching the circumferential velocity of the development roller from the second circumferential velocity to the first circumferential velocity, based on a moment when the second detector detects the existence of the sheet to be fed by the re-feeding unit.”

With this new award, Print-Rite now holds the largest number of patents in China granted in the printer consumables industry aftermarket.
