Precautions Proposed for Reducing Upgrade Risk

Orink has raised suggestions to customers who have used HP OfficeJet, OfficeJet Pro, and OfficeJet Pro X inkjet printers.

According to Orink, firmware updates on HP printers are frequently happening. It is necessary for customers to take precaution measures to reduce risks caused by firmware updates.

Orink has made suggestions to customers when they have encountered with the “HP Update” image on their printers as below:

HP had updated the firmware on its HP OfficeJet, OfficeJet Pro, and OfficeJet Pro X series of inkjet printers in September of 2016. The upgrade caused the aftermarket ink cartridges to stop being compatible with HP printers that use the HP 934/935, HP 950/951, and HP 970/971 series of cartridges at the time.
