Photizo Reports Konica Minolta Showcased Upcoming Products

Photizo Group reports on Konica Minolta Business Solution’s (KMBS) 2013 Business Conference and Product Expo under the theme of “Shape the Future”. During the conference, Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President of Marketing for KMBS, showed attendees recent and upcoming new products in a 33,000-square-foot product showcase.

Konica Minolta is integrating its offerings with common eSeries control panel design, accessories, and a bizhub Extended Solutions Technology (bEST) application platform.

Kern claimed that a new A4 platform design will provide interoperability with its A3 machines. The new machines—to be rolled out in the first quarter of 2014—will maintain the same touch screen design and will feature auto updates for engine enhancements. A new monochrome MFP and all-in-one (AIO) printer will be available late in 1Q2014, followed by a new color A4 MFP and an A4 color AIO printer. New monochrome products available now include the bizhub 4020 and 3320 monochrome MFPs and bizhub C3850 and C3350 color MFPs.

Photizo’s Ann Priede writes “The analyst Q&A is always a good opportunity to dig deeper into specifics” pointing out that questions to the executive team circle back to one recurring theme: “How is Konica Minolta going to accelerate its move into services and help its dealers move down this path?” Konica’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Rick Taylor, joined Kern in asserting that “Executives are going to keep talking about how many units the firm is selling and will use the technology at hand as a platform for the future”.
