Kyocera Has Recycling All Boxed Up

Kyocera Has Recycling All Boxed UpA new printer cartridge collection program has been launched in the UK as part of a European recycling scheme by Kyocera Document Solutions UK.

The OEM is working with LPR—an organization providing collection and recycling for the whole Kyocera toner cassettes—to provide two different sized boxes to users of Kyocera’s printers.

Kyocera maintains it has a strong heritage in taking environmental responsibility throughout the product life cycle, from raw materials to logistics and packaging, winning the ‘Good Packaging Award’ from The Japanese Institute of Packaging Materials.

The president of Kyocera Document Solutions Europe B.V., Takahiro Sato, showed his zeal on the new scheme, “Focused effort on collecting and recycling toner cassettes forms part of Kyocera’s environmental vision, enabling customers to benefit from technology without ignoring environmental impact. Recycling already exists across most of Europe, but our new consolidated approach means that more recycling can be done. We hope to increase the toner recycling rate by 64% in the first year alone.”

Kyocera has also launched a free-of-charge, direct collection scheme for all high volume customers. All can go online to register bulk or single unit returns through Kyocera Document Solutions UK’s website.

The colossal collection programs for larger consumers is part of the pan-European cooperation with LPR, and the general manager of General Affairs at KYOCERA Document Solutions Europe expressed optimistic expectations, “LPR allow us to provide a ‘one-stop shop’ offering across Europe. Free on-demand service and routine use of local logistics ensure the product is recycled as efficiently as possible.”
