Inkjet Ink Supplies and Components Seized Again

Inkjet ink supplies and components are the subject again of seizure and forfeiture orders for violating the General Exclusion Order (GEO ) related to the 337-TA-691 investigation.

This time, the California-based company OW Supplies Corp is the subject of the issue.

The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (“Customs”), reported they denied entry of the items into the United States, along with details of the GEO involved.

Customs claim they also warned both the importer as well as the consignee that any further attempt to import the articles into the United States would also result in seizure and forfeiture.

As a result, the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) issued the seizure and forfeiture order.

A copy of the Seizure and Forfeiture Order, dated February 18, has been provided to RT Media.

On September 23, 2009, Hewlett Packard Company, USA filed a lawsuit, claiming 11 companies infringed its four patents Nos: 6,089,687; 6,264,301; 6,959,985; 7,104,630. The USITC instituted a 337-TA-691 investigation on October 29, 2009 and issued a GEO on January 7, 2011.
