Imaging Experts to Confront Threatening Industry Change

North American, European and Asian experts will confront issues currently threatening the print consumables industry. The opportunities, and need for change, will be presented at Conference@2013: Preparing for Change on October 16, at the Zhuhai Holiday Inn, China.

Organizers at Recycling Times Media Corporation expect over 200 global industry leaders to participate.

Managing Director Tony Lee says, “The last two years have been tough: the original printer manufacturers, or OEMs, continue to face fierce competition from the aftermarket, particularly with illegal counterfeit, and patent infringing cloned consumables. They have had to fight to protect their own patents. Other aftermarket sectors, including remanufacturers who claim the right to repair used printer cartridges, also struggle to survive in what has become a print diminishing market: consumers do not print the same way they used to, 5 years ago.”

How can this industry be helped? How does it survive the slump and severe competition? What are the developments and global trends? Where are the opportunities to grow and prosper?

OEM and aftermarket leaders, industry analysts and patent attorneys from North America, Europe and Asia will share ideas that will transform business models for the next 12 months, and years ahead—insights you would not want your competitors to know.

Confirmed speakers for Conference@2013 include:

Allen Westerfield, President of Imaging Supplies Coalition. Formerly at Lexmark, Allen now heads a coalition of all the OEMs dedicated to educating, empowering and protecting consumers to combat counterfeiting and fraud in the imaging supplies industry. His view on cartridge clones is quite compelling.

Charles Brewer, President of Actionable Intelligence. Charlie’s action-intell.com intelligence briefings and insights will impact your thinking business planning for the next 12 months.

Robert Palmer, President of Palmer Consulting. Bob’s knowledge of the inkjet and toner technologies and wars for supremacy will impact what you will do with your business.

What’s more:

A German intellectual property lawyer will share issues facing the European market as aftermarket cartridges are expected to flood that market following the general exclusion order, or GEO, expected in the USA next month.

A Chinese public company spokesman will share his insights on the managed print services, or MPS, business potential in China.

Others will hook up live via video to share opportunities in emerging markets, including Russia/East Europe, Middle East, South Africa and Latin America .

Conference@2012 attracted 192 industry leaders from 15 countries and regions last year. RemaxAsia Expo, the world’s biggest trade show for printing supplies, will follow the one-day conference. Last year, over three days, it attracted 425 exhibitors and 9,035 buyers from around the world. RemaxAsia Expo 2013 will be held on October 17-19, Zhuhai.
