HP Launches “World’s Most Secure Printers”
HP has launched a series of new enterprise printers with strong focus on security, dubbing them the “world’s most secure printers.”
The OEM alleges that its new line of LaserJet Enterprise 600 Series standalone printers and MFPs comes with upgraded security, performance, and energy efficiency.
TheLaserJet Enterprise 600 Series features strong security function. According to HP, the 600 Series’s multi-function printers (MFPs) use the same security systems that HP has been using in its notebooks released this year.
This includes HP Sure Start, the company’s BIOS self-healing security technology that validates the integrity of the BIOS code. The technology will enable the printer to default to a safe copy of the BIOS when its security gets compromised. It also has continuous run-time intrusion detection that shuts down the device and reboots if an attack occurs, and uses whitelisting techniques.
The new printers include 17 skus with 26 bundles ranging from 50 ppm to 75 ppm.
Troy Browne, marketing manager for Office Printing Systems for HP Imaging, explained that the new the LaserJet Enterprise 600 series are HP’s highest-end A4 devices, featuring the highest level of security.
