Global Large-Format Printer Sales Falls Below Pre-Pandemic Level

Despite a temporary recovery in 2023, when the pandemic came to an end and markets began to reopen, the sluggish global economy in 2024 hindered large-format printer sales. Consequently, the figure dropped drastically to only 70% of the 2019 level, before the pandemic had broken out.

In terms of regional performance, the European market experienced the greatest decline, particularly in Northern Europe. Norway recorded a steep decrease of 36%, and Sweden saw a similar drop of 28%. Canada followed with a 7% year-on-year decline.

In contrast, China withstood the global recession and maintained relatively stable demand over the past two years, resulting in sales worth USD 510 million—up 1.4% compared to the same period last year. Latin America saw an even greater boost. In 2024, regional sales totaled USD 120 million, surging by an impressive 21.4%—the fastest growth among all regions. This growth is mainly due to rising demand for high-quality advertisements and billboards, driven by economic development, which encouraged governments and enterprises to invest in areas such as e-commerce, urban development, tourism, and entertainment. All these factors contributed to the increasing need for large-format printing, which in turn promoted the sales of printing equipment.
