Fuji Xerox Switches to Services

Fuji Xerox has announced an almost double-digit revenue growth in its Philippine operations during its shift to services and solutions business.

The company earned a tidy ¥1.188 trillion (US$9.86 billion) in its fiscal year 2014 and derives 60% of its sales from its core business of multifunction devices and printers. The balance comes from services and solutions.

As client demand evolves, Fuji Xerox is looking to a shift in revenue contribution by March 2017. Over 50% is expected to come from services and solutions.

Fuji Xerox Executive Vice-President and Director Katsuhiko Yanagawa said, “We have a long history in the Philippines and it is quite strong, not just the economy, but our business growth is quite high—close to double digits.”

“We’re now changing the business characteristics and are shifting to the more service-oriented side. We’re expanding the sources of revenue to sustain our growth,” added Mr. Yanagawa.

Also growing is its managed print services (MPS). Mr. Yanagawa revealed the company’s strategy would offer the next generation MPS to major customers while providing medium and small clients with simplified MPS.

“We will propose the service to customers in major cities,” he said.

Data from IDC MarketScape showed that Fuji Xerox had seized a 34.4% global market share of the MPS industry at the end of 2014.
