Epson Reports Decline in Third Quarter

Epson has released its financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2015(Q3 FY2015), ended December 31, reporting decline in business profit and revenue.

The highlights include:

* In Q3, revenue decreased 2.5% to JPY ¥294.4 billion (USD $2.43 billion), compared with the same period in last year;

* Although experiencing a year-over-year (YOY) decline of 5.9%, business profit in Q3 remained solid;

* Operation profit increased significantly by 25.3% to JPY ¥40.1 billion (USD $0.33 billion), compared with the same period in last year;

* Revenue of printing solutions totaled JPY ¥204.9 billion (USD $1.69 billion), down by 4.7% YOY;

* In the Printing Solutions segment, revenue in Q3 declined 4.4% to JPY ¥149.1 billion (USD $1.23 billion), outperforming professional printing and PC & other business units;

* In Q3, profit from Printing Solutions increased 0.8% to JPY ¥37.1 billion (USD $0.31 billion).
