Epson Announces Expression Photo XP-980 Photo Printer

Epson has announced the launch of the Expression Photo XP-980, a wireless color all-in-one printer aimed at home users, hobbyists, and families who print photos and creative materials. The printer supports wide-format, borderless printing up to 11 x 17 inches and uses a six-color ink system designed for photo output.

According to Epson, the XP-980 is intended for home environments that combine creative, educational, and everyday printing needs. The printer is capable of producing borderless 4 x 6-inch photos in approximately 11 seconds and includes scanning and copying functions in a compact form factor.

The XP-980 uses Epson’s six-color Claria Photo HD ink and supports high-resolution photo printing. It features built-in Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and compatibility with the Epson Smart Panel app, allowing printing and printer management from mobile devices. Paper handling options include a rear feed for specialty media, and the printer is equipped with a 4.3-inch color touchscreen with an Easy Mode interface for accessibility.

Additional features include mobile printing support from laptops, smartphones, and tablets, as well as access to Epson’s Creative Print mobile app and basic photo adjustment tools.
