Cartridge World Store Scoops Green Business Award

Cartridge World Slough, West Berkshire, UK, is one of this year’s winners in the Slough Business Awards, taking the prize for being the greenest organization in the Slough postcode area.

“The judges commented that our service has a positive impact on local businesses,” says Cartridge World Slough’s owner, Ian Chai(pictured, middle). “For a start, recycled cartridges don’t end up in landfill and that helps our customers meet ISO 14001 requirements for environmental management. Whereas most of our competitors are keen to supply brand new cartridges and printers, our service is all about recycling and providing high quality printer cartridges, plus repairing printers which saves customers’ money. Over the past 10 years we’ve recycled in the region of 60,000 cartridges.”

It is noted that Chai has developed a loyal customer base over the past three years and increased turnover by 26% and profitability by 6%. He now employs three people. “It’s great to receive this award,” Ian concludes. “I’m hoping that it will encourage even more businesses and local people to find out how we can help them operate in an even more sustainable way.”

Organized by business coaching service Enbright Services Ltd, the aim of the awards is to celebrate and recognize the achievements of the 18,000 businesses based within the Slough postcode and encourage their further development.
