Canon Withdraws an Infringement Action in Netherlands

Canon Inc. announced it has withdrawn a patent infringement action against Ninestar company Seine (Holland) B.V. in the District Court The Hague, the Netherlands.

The OEM asserted that the pending case concerned certain toner cartridges and photosensitive drum units sold for use in Canon and HP laser beam printers. The reason for the withdrawal is its settlement with the defendant.

In May 2014, Canon filed the lawsuit against Seine (Holland) B.V. for infringing its European Patent (NL) number 2 087 407 through the importation and sales of certain toner cartridges, before the District Court The Hague in Netherlands.
