Canon Summarizes Amazon Takedowns in Q2

Canon claimed it had removed 739 listings from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, and Belgium in the second quarter of 2023 (Q2).

Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, and Belgium is 31,855. The listings offered third-party laser toner cartridges from vendors that Canon believes infringed one or more of European Patent No. 2 087 407, European Patent No. 2 137 577, European Patent No. 1 977 289, European Patent No. 3 470 931 and European Patent No. 3 270 230.

Also in Q2, Canon claimed that it removed 214 listings from Amazon in Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America.

Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America is 3,775. The listings offered third-party laser printer toner cartridges from vendors that Canon believes infringed one or more of U.S. Patent No. 8,280,278, U.S. Patent No. 8,630,564, U.S. Patent No. 8,682,215, U.S. Patent No. 8,688,008, U.S. Patent No. 8,676,090, U.S. Patent No. 8,588,646, U.S. Patent No. 9,581,958, U.S. Patent No.11,169,483, U.S. Patent No.11,156,954, U.S. Pat. No. 11,199,807, U.S. Pat. No. 11,314,199, Canadian Patent No. 2,635,791, Canadian Patent No. 2,910,527, Mexican Patent No. 308881, and Mexican Patent No. 317598.

Canon claims it respects the intellectual property rights of others and will continue to enforce its own intellectual property rights.
