Canon Settles Twisted Gear Case with Printronic

Canon recently reached a successful resolution of a patent infringement dispute with Printronic Corp. in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, concerning certain toner cartridges and photosensitive drums infringing the OEM’s U.S. Patent Nos. 5,903,803 and 6,128,454.

According to Canon, , Printronic has stipulated to a Consent Judgment and Permanent Injunction from the Southern District of New York, which will prohibit Printronic from “making, using, selling and offering for sale in the U.S., and from importing into the U.S., the toner cartridges and photosensitive drums that Canon accused of infringement”.

The patents involved relate to the twisted gear inventory theory, protecting drum, driving force transmitter, and toner cartridge components.
