Canon: Inkjet Printing is at a Crossroads

Dennis Amorosano, Canon’s Vice President and General Manager of its Business Imaging Solutions Group, Marketing Division, claims Canon ink jet has captured a 25% market share of all pages printed in the U.S. over the past 12 months. This equates to about 75 billion sheets.

According to myprintresource.com, Brian Dollard, Director of Product Marketing at Canon, said at an exhibit called “Enabling Creativity without Boundaries”, “The industry is at a crossroads, driven by inkjet. Inkjet takes center stage in Canon’s booth, which includes samples from the Niagara press due out in mid-2015.”

Canon now has 44% market share in the continuous-feed print marketplace in the U.S. and Western Europe. The OEM is looking for 100% growth by the end of this year, driven by its PRISMA products.
