California-based Company Denied Ink Cartridges Imports

Another Seizure and Forfeiture Order has been issued to a California-based company for attempting to import certain ink cartridges and components that violate the standing General Exclusion Order (GEO) related to Investigation No. 337-TA-565.

According to the legal documents submitted to RT Media, California-based Green Project Inc. has allegedly violated the GEO related to the No. 337-TA-565 investigation. The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (“Customs”) has denied the entry of the imported products from Green Project Inc. and reported to the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC). In response to the Customs’ report, the USITC approved and issued the seizure and forfeiture order against the company.

Last week, RT Media reported that Green Project Inc. was issued two seizure and forfeiture orders by the USITC for its violation of Epson’s 337-TA-946 investigation and the 337-TA-691 investigation regarding HP.

No. 337-TA-565 is based on the complaint submitted by Epson Portland, Epson America, and Seiko Epson Corporation of Japan. To date, the USITC has declared 46 seizure and forfeiture orders related to GEO 337-TA-565, while declaring 18 in 2016.

Likewise, No. 337-TA-691 is based on the complaint submitted by Hewlett-Packard Company. To date, the USITC has declared 32 seizure and forfeiture orders related to GEO 337-TA-691, while declaring 17 in 2016.
