Auto Dealers Plan to Print Less

More than 750 energy-conscious auto dealers are making decisions to be more energy efficient.

According to Ward Auto dot com, they are waking up to the fact they have relied too much on wasteful printing and filing processes.

One Volvo dealer says reducing paper repair orders and related documents in the service department now saves his dealership $100,000 annually.

And a BMW dealer says it can require as many as 40 pages of documentation for each warranty claim.

The auto industry website reports 193 million US dollars and a million tons of greenhouse gases could be saved if every US dealership reduced its energy consumption by 10%.

And this could partially be achieved by reducing the use of labor, paper, ink, toner and storage.
