Apex Encourages Free Chip Tests

Apex Microelectronics has attached 4,000 pieces of its Lexmark T650 replacement chips to Issue 54 of Recycling Times Magazine. Apex aims to encourage American and European readers to do free tests for those chips.

As has been reported, Apex launched Lexmark replacement chips after 5 years of research and development, as the industry is aware of the difficulty of cracking the Lexmark E260/T650 technology. The company said it understands “remanufacturers are deeply concerned about their products’ durability against firmware upgrade and patent issues”. In this case, its products featured patented SOC technology.

Regarding the free chips, readers have sent some positive feedbacks.

A US reader commented, “Having been forced to buy the T650 chip for $45 in the past, plus other bundling-sale supplies, I must say this free chip was a real surprise.”

A German reader said, “We have been looking for high quality Lexmark chips at a reasonable price. On receiving this chip, we tested at once, and the results were quite beyond our expectation and the price was great.”

One industry veteran noted, “It’s the first time the industry saw such a large-scale free sample campaign. Apex has definitely shown that it is confident on its products and IP and it highly values the imaging industry and its customers”.

Further, Apex declared it respects all patents owned by others. It has been focusing on developing used OEM chip reset technology and now provides a worldwide OEM chip reset service.
