The DMP-2850 S is designed for micro-precision jetting of functional fluids onto a wide variety of substrates, including plastics, glass, ceramics, silicon, and flexible materials such as membranes, gels, thin films, and paper-based products.
According to Fujifilm Dimatix, the updated platform is aimed at researchers and university laboratories that require an integrated system for materials deposition, jetting analysis, and fluid development. The printer supports applications including sample generation, experimental design iteration, and the deposition of biological and functional fluids.
Software enhancements in the DMP-2850 S include expanded drop analysis tools to assist with optimization of printhead settings, waveform design, and ink formulation. These tools are designed to reduce the need for specialized expertise when using drop-watching systems or developing custom waveforms.
Hardware updates include an integrated computer with a more powerful processor, dual USB ports for data transfer, and increased onboard storage to support print jobs and process data. The system operates on Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC.
The DMP-2850 S uses Fujifilm Dimatix’s Samba®-based print cartridge, manufactured using silicon MEMS (Si-MEMS) technology with sputtered PZT (lead zirconate titanate). This cartridge design supports consistent and precise droplet formation. The system is compatible with a broad range of functional fluids, including UV-curable, aqueous, solvent-based, acidic, and basic materials.
The DMP-2850 S materials printer is currently available for shipment. Additional product information is available on the Fujifilm Dimatix website.
