PFU Introduces USB Scanner ScanSnap iX2400

PFU, a subsidiary of Ricoh, has announced the release of its new ScanSnap iX2400, which will be available starting November 13. Designed for small and mid-sized office environments, the device emphasizes operational simplicity with USB-only connectivity and a one-button scanning workflow, reducing both deployment complexity and daily operational overhead.

Although positioned as a cost-effective model, the iX2400 inherits key performance capabilities from the flagship ScanSnap iX2500. Powered by PFU’s proprietary next-generation “iiGA” SoC, the scanner delivers 45 pages per minute (A4, color, duplex, 300 dpi) and supports up to 100 sheets per batch. Its advanced paper-handling system—featuring ultrasonic multi-feed detection, skew detection, and a high-quality brake roller—minimizes paper-feed errors and safeguards delicate documents. Image processing enhancements help reduce color shift and moiré patterns, ensuring high-quality output even for photos and fine-detail materials.

The device achieves notable energy efficiency, operating at approximately 13W and consuming less than 0.1W when powered off. ScanSnap Home provides integrated management of scanned data, with support for workflow connections to Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneNote, Notion, iCloud, and cloud services integrated via ScanSnap Cloud. The iX2400 also advances PFU’s sustainability initiatives by incorporating 25% recycled plastic and utilizing packaging that avoids virgin fossil-based plastics.

With its combination of high performance, ease of use, and environmental consideration, the ScanSnap iX2400 offers organizations a reliable solution for everyday document digitization.
