Xerox has entered into a partnership with Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. to source high-speed cut-sheet inkjet (CSIJ) production presses, marking Xerox’s return to the CSIJ market after several years of absence.

Under the terms of the agreement, Xerox will integrate Kyocera’s inkjet technology into its production print portfolio, with the presses to be branded and sold under the Xerox name. The new machines will be offered alongside Xerox’s workflow automation tools, finishing solutions, and remote service capabilities, forming part of an end-to-end production print solution targeted at commercial print providers.

This strategic move supports Xerox’s broader initiative to realign its production print business toward higher-value, high-growth segments. According to market research firm IT Strategies, global installations of cut-sheet inkjet printers are projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 13% between 2025 and 2030.

Xerox had previously exited the CSIJ market following the end of its long-standing joint venture with Fujifilm, known as Fuji Xerox. That collaboration, which lasted nearly six decades, formally ended in March 2021, with the business transitioning to Fujifilm Business Innovation.

Commenting on the new partnership, Terry Antinora, senior vice president and head of product and engineering at Xerox, said the agreement reflects customer demand for faster, more efficient color production printing. He emphasized that the move enables Xerox to diversify its portfolio and expand its presence in a rapidly evolving market segment.

Kyocera also highlighted the value of the partnership, noting that Xerox’s global reach and workflow solutions combined with Kyocera’s inkjet technology would create a competitive offering for print providers seeking reliability and operational efficiency.

The new CSIJ presses are expected to complement existing Xerox products such as the Xerox Iridesse Production Press, Xerox Versant Presses, and Xerox PrimeLink printers and presses. Specific product details, including model availability and launch timelines, are expected to be announced later in 2025.
